Not Part of the Plan- GirlDefined

I was so thankful to again be chosen to be a part of the launch team for GirlDefined’s new book: “Not Part of the Plan: Trusting God with the twists and turns of your story.” I was so excited when they announced this new book. I’ve been so encouraged as I’ve followed the story of Bethany’s long journey of singleness and Kristen’s trial of infertility. Their openness to these struggles have encouraged me so much as I see their love for the Lord grow even in the midst of hard. I remember hearing Kristen share of her third miscarriage at the 2019 GirlDefined conference- months after a big and hard life disappointment for me. I was lost and confused and my only hope was to cling to the Lord as my life didn’t go in the direction I had hoped it would. Hey all! So guess what? We got a dog. Yes WE got a dog. But this is probably late news to most. I meant to post something like this earlier, but I got busy and distracted, but here it is now and with a few pictures.
We got her a few weeks ago and since then it has been an up and down experience.
My dad and younger siblings really, really wanted a dog and of course they got one. The rest of us either got talked into it or had no other choice. But yeah, within a week of determination and seeking and researching we got one. My mom wanted a dog that would be smaller, that doesn't shed, and a good family pet. So we got a goldendoodle.
Our main goal right now is train, train, train. No biting, which she seems to really like, no running away from us, sit, no barking and of course the housetraining. It's slow and most of the time frustrating, especially when she get's all hyper, but we are getting her now.
We are going camping this weekend with her, so it will be kind of interesting. We will see how it goes.
